Thank you for your interest in joining the Panhellenic community! Service opportunities, professional development, leadership positions, and life-long friendships are just a few of the reasons for joining a Panhellenic chapter. Sorority membership greatly enhances your college experience. All women who are interested in sorority life are encouraged to explore the recruitment process.

Recruitment Rules

1.    A woman is eligible to participate in recruitment if she is a regularly matriculated student, has completed 12 credit hours, and has a minimum of 2.7 GPA.

2.    A signed Preference card is binding. If the Potential New Member receives a bid under the preference system, she is ineligible to be pledged to any other national sorority on the same campus for one calendar year. If the Potential New Member does not receive a bid under the preference system, she is eligible for Continuous Open Recruitment.

3.    A person who has ever been an initiated member of an existing NPC sorority shall not be eligible for membership in another NPC sorority.

4.    The use of alcoholic beverages in recruitment functions is prohibited.

5.    The participation of men in recruitment functions is prohibited.

6.    The Potential New member shall attend Orientation Night and all the parties to which she has received and accepted invita- tions. Potential members DO need to attend all scheduled classes during this week.

  • In the event of illness or other emergency, she shall notify her Recruitment Counselor or the Panhellenic Advisor prior to the party she will miss.

Recruitment Orientation

Your recruitment experience will begin... with Recruitment Orientation on Friday, January 19, 2017 at 6pm. On this day, you will be assigned to your recruitment group and Recruitment Counselor. Your Recruitment Counselor will provide you with all the information you need to have a fun and stress-free week!

Day 1: Meet the Sisters/Philanthropy Round

Recruitment beings with... a chance to get you to know the benefits of sorority membership. These recruitment parties will give you the opportunity to get to know individual sorority members, ask questions, and find out what sorority life is all about. During the first recruitment round, known as Philanthropy Round, sororities will share with you the responsibilities and benefits of going Greek as well as their sorority's philanthropic cause.

Day 2: Sisterhood Round

The second night of recruitment ... allows the potential new members the chance to visit up to three sororities again in an informal setting. A crucial part of sorority life is the sisterhood bond shared between its members. During the Sisterhood Round each sorority will have the opportunity to share its mission and values with the potential new members, and provide the girls with some insight into the ideals it for which they stand.

Day 3: Preference Night Round

The third and final night of recruitment ... Preference Night, is a sentimental ceremony in which the active members demonstrate to the potential new members their bonds of sisterhood and what their sorority truly means to them. Potential Members are included in the ceremony/rituals and should use this night to help make their decision concerning which sorority makes them feel most at home. Listen carefully to what the women say; they are revealing to you the strongest characteristics of their chapter. Potential new members may attend as many as two parties during this round.

Bid Day!

Bid Day is the last day of Recruitment ... It is the day potential new members receive their invitation, or bid, to join a sorority, It is an exciting day because it is when potential new members meet their new sorority sisters. Recruitment Counselors distribute bids that morning, following the distribution of bids the potential new members are introduced to their new sorority.
