Recruitment Rules

1. A woman is eligible to participate in recruitment if she is a regularly matriculated student, has completed 12 credit hours, and has a minimum of 2.7 GPA.

2. A signed Preference card is binding. If the Potential New Member receives a bid under the preference system, she is ineligible to be pledged to any other national sorority on the same campus for one calendar year. If the Potential New Member does not receive a bid under the preference system, she is eligible for Continuous Open Recruitment.

3. A person who has ever been an initiated member of an existing NPC sorority shall not be eligible for membership in another NPC sorority.

4. The use of alcoholic beverages in recruitment functions is prohibited.

5. The participation of men in recruitment functions is prohibited.

6. The Potential New member shall attend Orientation Night and all the parties to which she has received and accepted invita- tions. Potential members DO need to attend all scheduled classes during this week.

In the event of illness or other emergency, she shall notify her Recruitment Counselor or the Panhellenic Advisor prior to the party she will miss.

The right to be treated as an individual.
The right to be fully informed about the recruitment process.
The right to ask questions and receive true and objective answers from Recruitment Counselor and sorority members.
The right to be treated with respect.
The right to be treated as a capable and mature person without being patronized.
The right to ask how and why and receive straight answers.
The right to have and express opinions to Recruitment Counselors.
The right to have confidentiality when sharing information with Recruitment Counselors.
The right to be informed about the binding agreements implicit in the preference card signing.
The right to make one’s own choice and decision and accept full responsibility for the results of that decision.
The right to have a positive, safe and enriching recruitment and new member experience.

Continuous Open Recruitment Rules

Step by Step Instructions for Continuous Open Recruitment (COR)

Determine if your Chapter is eligible by confirming Total.
Plan a casual event. Publicize to the campus community, using all available methods. Find out if there are new names on the Greek Interest List.
When Potential Members attend your event, have them fill out a Potential New Member Form. Afterwards, turn those in to Stacey so she can check grades.
After you hear back about PNM grades, your Chapter may vote. When you decide who you are going to extend a bid to, fill out the digital form to notify Stacey.
After extending your PNM a bid, they should be given 24 hours to think about it and accept or decline. If they accept, they should see Stacey the next BUSINESS day to sign all necessary paperwork.

This spring our chapters will be inviting potential new members to join our sisterhoods. These organizations will hold primary recruitment January 19-27, 2018. If you are interested in joining any of our organizations, please contact us to learn about the different ways you can join our community.

WHEN IS THE DATE?

Recruitment Orientation

Your recruitment experience will begin... with Recruitment Orientation on Friday, January 19, 2017 at 6pm. On this day, you will be assigned to your recruitment group and Recruitment Counselor. Your Recruitment Counselor will provide you with all the information you need to have a fun and stress-free week!

Day 1: Meet the Sisters/Philanthropy Round

Recruitment beings with... a chance to get you to know the benefits of sorority membership. These recruitment parties will give you the opportunity to get to know individual sorority members, ask questions, and find out what sorority life is all about. During the first recruitment round, known as Philanthropy Round, sororities will share with you the responsibilities and benefits of going Greek as well as their sorority's philanthropic cause.
