SJU Collegiate Challenge Mission Statement

Saint Joseph’s University Collegiate Challenge is a student coordinated, student led organization that strives to promote awareness of the need to eliminate substandard housing in the United States, foster the Jesuit ideal of men and women with and for others, and offer a summer service immersion alternative for students at Saint Joseph’s by volunteering at various Habitat for Humanity sites throughout the nation during the summer break.  The emphasis of these trips shall be on both serving communities outside of Philadelphia and immersing our students into the culture, customs, and unique problems of those communities.  By going on these trips, students should return conscious of the mission of Habitat for Humanity, educated on the diversity within the United States, and possessed with a desire to communicate both to their home communities.
It is our goal that we shall be “building a better life, one nail at a time.”
