Daniel Torres is currently the General Counsel, Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary for Autopistas Metropolitanas de Puerto Rico, LLC (“metropistas”), the first toll road Public-Private Partnership in Puerto Rico established through a consortium by Abertis Infraestructuras, S.A. and Goldman Sachs in 2011to operate, manage, maintain, rehabilitate, toll and expand two toll roads for a 40-year term in exchange for the payment of an upfront concession fee equal to $1.136 billion. As General Counsel, Mr. Torres has ultimate responsibility for all legal support to metropistas, serving as principal counsel to senior leadership and the board of directors and leading the company’s Legal department. As head of the Legal department, he oversees all legal services, the contract management function, litigation, as well as other matters, such as government relations and risk management (insurance). As the company’s chief compliance officer, Mr. Torres is responsible for managing legal, regulatory, and compliance programs that enable metropistas to operate effectively, while adhering to the highest ethical standards and meeting regulatory and Concession requirements. He also serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Company, where he is the record-keeper and primary coordinator for all Board of Director matters.
