Puck Cancer Hockey Night (2024-25)

As we launch into the 2024-25 season, we’re thrilled to announce our Puck Cancer Night on November 16th, featuring a matchup against Stockton! The game will kick off at 5 PM, and we invite you to join us in honoring the memory of Landon Vargas, who bravely fought Leukemia until the age of 9. This special night is organized in partnership with the Landon Vargas Foundation.

This year, this event holds special significance for our SJU Ice Hockey team, as one of our coaching staff members, Hugh Walz, is courageously battling cancer. Coach Walz has been a cherished part of the SJU Ice Hockey Club team for quite some time as he was a player from 1981-85, assistant coach from 1987-90, head coach from 2001-18, and then the GM from 2018-24. Hugh’s presence profoundly impacts the SJU Ice Hockey team.

Join us for an evening filled with fun events, including a jersey auction, a ceremonial puck drop, and a fun chuck-a-puck intermission. We hope to see you there!
