Our Mission
We now live in a world where we tend to only talk to like-minded people and it’s hard to know how to connect with others who may not think exactly like us. Research studies show that when that happens, each side moves towards an even more extreme policy position. The Social Justice Network seeks to create a space for collaborative conversation on SJU's campus. We hope to achieve this through the facilitation of constructive discussions, actionable measures, creative written and artistic expression, and bringing people together through volunteer work in our community. With the Magis spirit of concern for the whole individual and concern for each other we hope to begin to bridge the gap between people who think differently on our campus. We believe this can be achieved through creating a space in which positive expressions can thrive and difficult conversation topics can be nurtured with a goal of finding common ground.
