Code Of Conduct

Whereby the University Student Senate seeks to hold all of its members accountable as student leaders on and off campus.

Whereby it is deemed necessary and appropriate for members of student government to be ambassadors of the in order to foster the trust, transparency, and credibility of the senate body as a whole.

 

The Code of Conduct consists of ten tenets designed to provide guidance on how members of the student government can best represent themselves to uphold the oath they took to serve the student body of Saint Joseph’s University. It is important to note that these rules do not seek to limit the college experience of students who seek higher responsibility as student leaders nor be any kind of penalization, but rather a guide to keeping oneself and constituents safe and respected on campus. Furthermore, this code seeks to emphasize respecting one's self and surroundings in all environments and facets of life.

 

1. Always respect the rights, opinions, and beliefs of others.

2. Strive for honesty, integrity, and transparency in all actions.

3. Treat all members of the student body, faculty, and staff with respect and kindness.

4. Maintain confidentiality when appropriate, and ask stakeholders to determine when appropriate.

5. Attend all meetings and participate actively in discussions.

6. Respect the leadership roles within the University Student Senate and University at large supporting their decisions.

7. Take responsibility for the actions and progression of oneself.

8. Abide by all school policies and regulations.

9. Be cognizant when using school resources and do so responsibly.

10.  Maintain an appropriate digital footprint and realize that all actions can be recorded, and present yourself in a manner you would be comfortable being published publicly.
