Thank you to everyone who could come to our meeting this past week! Just a reminder that Member Dues are due TOMORROW – If you want a shirt and water bottle be sure to pay ASAP (More info Below)!

If you could not make our meeting or just want a little recap here is what we talked about:

** What will we do:

There are 4 pillars to our campus chapter:
– Educating: We will hold educational events about housing issues throughout the semester. These events will be interactive and may include a guest speaker!
– Advocating: Infoming members and giving them an option to make a change on public policy.
– Fundraise: We will hold FUNdraising events through out the semester. Money raised for these events may go to HFH PA, International, or to a similar organization in PA (We will let you know where each specific fundraiser funds will go!)
– Building: Service events! Building with Habitat for Humanity or service events at other non-profits with a similar mission.

Most of our events are open to the entire SJU Community and all are welcome to join!

** Member Dues:

Member dues are due Monday September 19 (tomorrow). This money will be used to purchase food, transportation and supplies for events, builds and meetings for the 2016-17 year. After paying you will receive a free SJU Habitat T-shirt and reusable water bottle.
Payment Options:
– Venmo: @SJUHABITAT – Be sure to put your shirt size in the comments!
– Cash or Check: You can bring it to Sunroom 1 Tomorrow (9/19) from 5-8pm. Checks can be made out to “Saint Joesph’s University” and put “SJU Habitat for Humanity” in the memo line.
If you are unable to meet the deadline, pay the $20 or going abroad please contact us (sjuhabitat@gmail.com).. We can work something out!

** Attendance:

SOME (absolutely not all) of our events will have caps due to space restraints set by the specific service site. Because of this we take attendance at our events/meetings. Those who show up to more events will have priory to go to events that require caps.
How do we take attendance?
Just text the Event Code (this will be posted somewhere at the event) to 224-444-0060. You will not receive a text back. If your phone’s battery is ever dead just type in your number at a computer in the back of the room – If there is no computer just let any Executive Board member know!

** Committees:

Anyone is free to join a committee. Committee’s main goal is to plan all of the events for the SJU Campus and the general members.
Currently we have 3 committees:
– Service Committee: Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing service events (including Day builds with Habitat for Humanity, and other non-profits)
– Education & Advocacy Committee: Responsible for the marketing of the club. They are also responsible for planning our monthly general member meetings and other education events!
– Fundraising Committee: Responsible for planning, organizing and implementing our super cool FUNdraising events.

We have 3 positions open:
– Treasurer
– Social Chair
– Community Outreach Chair
