E-Board Spotlight: Caroline Kelm

Senior Caroline Kelm is one of the Co-Presidents of Women’s Leadership Initiative. She is originally from Lansdale, PA. At SJU, Caroline studies Political Science. In 2015, Caroline joined WLI as a General member, served as a protégé in 2016, became the Director of Newsletters in 2017, and assumed the role of Co-President in 2018. Caroline’s favorite WLI event has been our Pay Equity Bake Sale. During her sophomore year, Caroline took part in the first ever iteration of this event, so she was glad to participate in the fundraiser again this past December.

Caroline’s favorite part about WLI is the fact that the organization fosters inclusive conversations with individuals who come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Through these conversations, Caroline hopes that SJU’s campus will also become more inclusive. She is grateful that WLI has allowed her the opportunity to help prepare other women to be strong leaders on and off campus. Caroline is currently preparing to take the LSAT with the possibility of attending law school among her options for post-graduation.

My primary role on WLI’s Executive Board is Director of Communications. In this capacity, I lead a team of three women who comprise the Communications Team. My team is responsible for the entirety of WLI’s online and print presence. I also serve as the Chair of our Women’s Health Subcommittee, which ensured the installation of trash receptacles for the disposal of feminine hygiene products in women’s restroom stalls on SJU’s campus in 2019.
