Self Care Study Break with Daff Wellness (December Event)
For our final event of the Fall semester, WLI partnered with Daff Wellness, a natural cosmetic company, founded by Lillian Rivera for a Finals week study break. Rivera was represented by Paul Koeing ‘22, who met Rivera in El Salvador last year through the Winter Immersion Program (WIP). The study break consisted of a presentation about Rivera and the creation of Daff Wellness, as well as opportunities to buy Rivera’s products.
As a child, Rivera was always interested in healthy living, yoga, and gardening. Rivera created Daff Wellness to spread positivity and share more ways to take care of one’s body through the use of natural beauty products.
Programa Velasco’s Women’s Empowerment Project (WEP), a two-year training program that supports entrepreneurial women in El Salvador, supported Rivera to create Daff Wellness. WEP empowered Rivera’s entrepreneurial venture through workshops, classes, funding, and mentorship.
Currently, students at Saint Joseph’s University, including Koeing, have partnered with Rivera to spread Rivera’s story, as well as sell her products both on and off-campus. Learn more about Rivera and Daff Wellness by visiting their Facebook and Instagram pages.
Be sure to follow WLI on social media to stay updated on our partnership with Daff Wellness. We have exciting things coming this Spring semester that we are looking forward to sharing with you!
