E-Board Spotlight: Sophie Page

Sophie Page Headshot

Meet Sophie, Secretary of Women’s Leadership Initiative. Sophie is originally from Landenberg, PA. During her Freshman year, Sophie noticed the WLI table at the Activities Fair and decided to join because of her interest in female empowerment. What better way to become empowered than to surround yourself with empowered women? Sophie is now a Sophomore and is happy to be able to encourage other young women to make their voices heard on campus through her role as Secretary. She encourages others to join WLI to learn more about interesting women’s issues during our meetings and events. Sophie’s main focus is ensuring that young women who attend SJU have a platform to speak on.

Sophie is currently studying Political Science and hopes to continue her education after graduation by obtaining her Ph.D. in either Political Science or another field of study. She is also considering law school. So far, her favorite WLI event has been our annual Distributing Dignity Drive. Sophie is also a Hawk Host, a member of the University Singers, and an identical twin!

My primary role on WLI’s Executive Board is Director of Communications. In this capacity, I lead a team of three women who comprise the Communications Team. My team is responsible for the entirety of WLI’s online and print presence. I also serve as the Chair of our Women’s Health Subcommittee, which ensured the installation of trash receptacles for the disposal of feminine hygiene products in women’s restroom stalls on SJU’s campus in 2019.
